Yes, our e-bikes are pedal-assisted models which require rider input at all times.

There’s no need to worry, being a pedal-assisted model means you are in full control at all times. When a power assist level is selected the motor simply provides a little extra boost whilst you pedal and does not take over.

No, pedal-assisted electric bikes do not require you to hold a valid driver’s licence, pay any form of road tax or take out insurance.

To charge the battery you simply plug the bike into a household socket using the supplied charger and cable. (The optional range extender can also charge the main battery whilst you are on the move).

The electric components used on our e-bikes are IP54 rated. They are protected against splashing, but not against full immersion. The electric bike should never be subjected to pressurised water from a hose pipe or jet wash, failure to adhere to this may result in damage to the electrical components that comprise the motor system . When transporting the bike on the outside of a vehicle a waterproof cover should be used to ensure the protection of the electronic components from water ingress during transportation.

Yes, all ebikes can be purchased through all the major Cycle to Work scheme providers. The government have even removed the £1000 limit making obtaining an ebike through Cycle to Work more beneficial than ever.

Due to the challenges associated with the Covid pandemic, test rides are not currently available. We hoe to be able to offer these soon. Alternatively, you can hire the e-bike from E-Venture Bikes in Keswick, the rental cost will then be deducted from your purchase should you decide to buy one of our e-bikes. We also hope to be able to reinstate the Ribble roadshows which travel around the UK offering people the opportunity to test ride our bikes. Yes, you can cycle through 3 different assistance modes (which can be configured further in the app), or choose to have the motor turned off completely; all at the press of a single button.

The SL e’s motor system is 'pedal-assist', which means that the motor adds assistance to each pedal stroke.

The SL e’s motor system will power you until you reach 15mph, at which point (by law, and as with all e bikes in the UK) the assistance will cut out. If you drop below 15mph the system will automatically kick back in with assistance if required.

The battery range of the Endurance SL e depends on a number of factors including rider weight, route profile and temperature. A rider of 90kg, on a varied route including climbs, descents and flats using the low power setting can expect an average of 60 miles range. An optional range extender is also available for all of our e-bikes, which takes the total capacity to 456Wh and increases the available range by up to 70%.

Yes, and with builds available from sub 10.5kg you may find yourself above this speed a lot of the time. The motor will only assist you up to 15mph, and for speeds above this you will be relying on your legs.

It is simple to disconnect the rear wheel from the frame by unclipping the connector on the chainstay and releasing the nuts on the rear axle. Then reconnect by clipping the cable back in, insert the wheel and tighten the nuts.

The frame has a 3-year warranty against manufacturing defects. All other parts are covered by the manufacturer's standard warranty. The MAHLE SmartBike System is covered against manufacturing defects for a period of 2-years.

Yes the frame is compatible with full mudguards thanks to its integrated mudguard mounts.

The Endurance SL e is suitable for tyre widths up to 32c without mudguards, though this is dependant upon the model / brand of tyre fitted. With mudguards fitted the bike will accept 25c tyres.

The Endurance geometry of this frame is best suited to comfort and efficiency over longer distances on road, as well as an aid to climbing. If you're going to be riding off-road often, we would suggest the Gravel AL e which has the same MAHLE SmartBike System.

Yes, thanks to its fully internal cable routing the frame is fully compatible with electronic groupsets.

The button mounted on the top-tube indicates the remaining battery life at a glance using a simple colour-code. White= 75% capacity or more remaining, Green= 50-75%, Orange= 25-50%, Red= 15-25%, Slow Red Flash= 10-15% and Rapid Red Flash= 10% or less remaining. You can also keep track of the remaining battery life using the MAHLE SmartBike System companion app.

Yes, the motor system’s companion app is compatible with both Apple and Android OS’s and offers a full suite of functionality; from monitoring your exact battery life, to pairing the system with a heart rate monitor and having the motor kick in at a specific BPM limit.

Like any battery, the capacity will start to degrade over time. In the case of the Panasonic battery it should be after approximately 500 charging cycles if its care and maintenance is adequate. The Endurance SL e takes a press-fit style of BB, Shimano builds require a 86.5x41 BB and Sram a BB86.

The additional battery comes in the form of a bottle and is supplied with it's own bottle cage.This replaces the seat tube mounted bottle cage (this cannot be mounted on the down tube), the charger then plugs into the charging port on top of the bottom bracket shell.
